Hoggard 12, Providence Day 11 (OT)

Scout Philipp scored the game winner to complete the hat trick and give the Vikings a second straight one-goal victory.

Hunter Williams and Devin Noonan also scored three goals a pieces. Kenan Arne added two and Josh Failia had one for Hoggard (6-0).

Goalkeepers Logan Trafton and Josh Raber both saw action and combined to make 13 saves.


Coastal Christian 16, St. David’s School 5 (5 innings)

The Centurions scored all 16 runs in the first two innings to cruise to a nonconference victory.

Nick Chuisano and Carson Lorek each doubled and Caleb Conner had a triple. Chusiano went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, while Jacob Mintz and Logan Bunch each collected two hits.  Coastal Christian (2-4) also stole six bases.

Bunch struck out three in two shutout innings and Zion Kinlaw fanned a pair in his two clean innings.

West Brunswick 10, North Myrtle Beach (S.C.) 8

Jeepie Wilson doubled home Brandon Aycock in the bottom of the sixth to put the Trojans on top for good.

Jordan Wilkes followed with a single to plate courtesy runner Brody Hughes with the insurance run. Wilson had three doubles, while Wilkes, Ethan Reed and Tanner Babson each collected two hits for West Brunswick (3-3).

Starting pictcher Shawn Smith struck out eight and allowed an unearned run in four innings. TJ Scinto got the win and Shane Ferris collected the save.


Coastal Christian 6, St. David’s School 0

Brooke Allen and Channing Pruzan each found the back of the net twice in Coastal Christian’s third consecutive shutout.

Coastal Christian (4-2) got on the board first with a goal from senior Anna Smith. Allen’s goals made it 3-0 before Elsa Johnson added a fourth goal on Autumn Montague’s third assist.

Allen and Shea Phipps each assisted Pruzan’s goals. Freshman goalkeeper Betsy Wheeler preserved the shutout by stopping all three shots she faced.


Jack Britt 4, Hoggard 3

The Vikings weren’t able to convert on their scoring chances, leaving 11 runners on the base in the road loss against the defending 4A state champs.

Skyler Walker went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Icess Tresvik, Allie Royal and Amber Small also doubled for Hoggard (3-3), which tied the game at 3 with two runs in the fifth. Royal doubled home Walker and Tresvik touched home on a wild pitch.

Jack Britt grabbed the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth.


Coastal Christian 6, Caldwell Academy 3

After winning a pair of doubles match, the Centurions took four of the six singles courts to secure the road victory.


Kingsport Area Christian Homeschool (Tenn.) 61, Southeastern Homeschool 56

The Cardinals built an 18-12 lead after the opening quarter, but couldn’t hold on in the Division 3 championship game at the East Coastal Nationals.

In the final seconds of the contest, senior Noah Sibbett hit a free throw for his 1,000th career point. Sibbet led Southeastern Homeschool (18-10) with 23 points. Philip Strickland scored nine points, Raymond Still had eight and Andy Boehling finished with seven.
