A guide to Coastal Preps

Welcome to Coastal Preps!

I hope this website become your No. 1 source for high school sports news in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties. All the content you view is free of charge because of awesome advertisers. There are still plenty of ad spaces available, so if you are interested in purchasing a spot on the home page, sport page or school page, feel free to contact me at Tim@CoastalPreps.com.

Since navigating new sites can sometimes be difficult, I wanted to give you a quick tutorial. I’m sure there will be a few minor kinks that will need to be worked out over the next few weeks, so please bear with me.

Home Page

The menu at the top will help you navigate the site. You can view featured content, find articles pertaining to a particular school or sport, see a calendar of all the upcoming events, find out more about my journey, view sponsors or contact me with ideas, questions or concerns.

Here is a description of the featured content.

  • Daily Roundup: Here you will be able to find recaps of all the action from a particular night.
  • Rankings: Power rankings of all the teams in our coverage area. Only certain sports will have rankings. These will be updated weekly.
  • Area Leaders: Stats from the top players in the area. Only certain sports will have leaders. These will be updated weekly.
  • 60 Seconds With: A rapid fire Q&A video interview with an area player or coach to help you get to know them a little better. Expect 1 or 2 videos each week.
  • Spot a Star:┬áDon’t have time to read the Daily Roundup each day? No worries, we have you covered. This list will be published every Monday and will include the top performances of the week.

The three most current (or most newsworthy) stories will appear in the main carousel. If the story you are looking for isn’t in the carousel, don’t worry. There are plenty of other places on the site where you will be able to find it.

As you scroll down you will find a sign up to receive emails with the latest updates, scores and more. You will also see a weekly calendar that will have all the upcoming games listed by sport. The home page concludes with four top stories in Around the Area as well as the three latest posts from our Facebook page.

I hope you enjoy browsing the site. There will be plenty of content uploaded daily once the season gets underway. Football previews will run Aug. 5-9 with the other fall sports following.
