2019 Boys Track Athlete of the Year: Jieem Bullock
With the spring high school sports season complete, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys golf, boys tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer, softball and baseball
The Coastal Preps Boys Track Athlete of the Year is junior Jieem Bullock of North Brunswick.
Bullock’s junior season ended on a high with a pair of titles at the 3A State Championship. He cleared 6-8 in the long jump to tie his own school record and then had a distance of 23-1 in the long jump.
A week earlier at the 3A East Regional, Bullock won the long jump with a personal-best distance of (24-3.5) and finished second in the high jump (6-6) and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (20.63).
Bullock scored 32.5 points at the Mideastern Conference Championship by earning first place finishes in the 110 hudles, high jump, long jump and 4×200 relay.
With another season to come, Bullock has his sights set on breaking Jayhlen Washington’s school record in the long jump, which is 24-6.5. Bullock’s personal best is 24-4.25, which he set at the New Balance Nationals Indoor in March.
