2020-21 Boys Soccer Defensive Player of the Year: Selden Baldwin
The Coastal Preps Boys Soccer Defensive Player of the Year is senior Selden Baldwin from New Hanover.
Selden’s Accomplishments
As the anchor of the New Hanover defense, Selden Baldwin helped the team have one of the best seasons in school history.
The Wildcats finished unbeaten in Mideastern Conference play and reached the NCHSAA 3A State Championship, where they suffered a tough 2-1 overtime loss despite playing more than half the match a man down.
Baldwin and the rest of the New Hanover defense only allowed 10 goals on the season and finished with eight shutouts in 16 contests. The senior also found the back of the net five times and dished out four assists.
