The Titans had five rushing touchdowns of 30 or more yards in the dominant home victory.

Senior Brandon Bannerman scored on runs of 30, 41 and 42 yards. He finished with four carries for 136 yards. Isaac Turner added 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on his four carries.

Trask (3-1) entered the season on a 17-game losing streak. They fell to Topsail in the season opener, but have since reeled off three straight wins.

“This kids were thirsty for success and all I did was bring some water,” first-year coach Lawrence Ches said. “They just wanted somebody who believed.”

After recovering an onside kick to begin the game, the Titans needed only five plays to grab an early lead on Bannerman’s 30-yard touchdown run.

O’Mariyan Ennis capped a seven-play, 92-yard drive with a 3-yard run to increase the Titans’ lead to 14-0.

A 6-yard score from Turner as well as a 90-yard interception return from Jamiel Davis made it 29-7 at halftime. Davis had a pair of first half interceptions as well as a 46-yard touchdown run on a quarterback keeper midway through the third quarter.

Trask continued to pile up points in the second half. After being forced to punt on the opening series, the Titans scored on three of their next four offensive snaps.

“We’ve taught them simple stuff that they can be successful at and then let our good athletes be good athletes,” Ches said.
