The Coastal Preps Football Offensive Player of the Year is senior Chase Nixon from New Hanover.

Chase’s Accomplishments

In his first season as the starting quarterback for New Hanover, senior Chase Nixon had a remarkable season to lead the team to the Mideastern Conference title and a berth in the 3AA East final.

Nixon completed 62 percent of his throws (153 of 246) for 1,989 yards and 28 touchdowns with only four interceptions. He tossed multiple touchdown passes nine times, including four in victories over South Brunswick (44-0 on Oct. 18) and Union Pines (47-21 on Nov. 29).

With Nixon leading the way, the Wildcats averaged 36.3 points, which was the fifth highest in program history since 1960.
