Mideastern Conference Girls Basketball Tournament Seeding Scenarios

The NCHSAA high school basketball regular season wraps up this week with conference tournaments right around the corner. Some of the seeds for the Mideastern Conference Tournament, which will once again be held at Brunswick Community College, have been determined while others won’t be decided until all the games have been played Thursday.

Here is a look at current standings as well as scenarios that will determined the final seeds.

Standings

Ashley: 19-4, 13-0

Laney: 19-3, 11-2

Hoggard: 19-4, 10-3

New Hanover: 8-12, 6-7

North Brunswick: 10-10, 5-8

West Brunswick: 7-16, 3-10

Topsail: 4-19, 3-10

South Brunswick: 4-19, 1-12

Ashley (at Laney)

Already clinched regular season title at No. 1 seed for conference tournament

Hoggard (at New Hanover)

With a win and Laney loss: A draw will be used to determine the No. 2 and 3 seeds for the conference tournament

With a win and Laney win: Earns No. 3 seed for conference tournament

With a loss: Earns No. 3 seed for conference tournament

Laney (vs. Ashley)

With a win: Earns No. 2 seed for conference tournament

With a loss and Hoggard loss: Earns No. 2 seed for conference tournament

With a loss and Hoggard win: A draw will be used to determine the No. 2 and 3 seeds for the conference tournament

New Hanover (vs. Hoggard)

With a win: Earns No. 4 seed for conference tournament

With a loss and North Brunswick loss: Earns No. 4 seed for conference tournament

With a loss and North Brunswick win: Earns No. 5 seed for conference tournament

North Brunswick (at Topsail)

With a win and New Hanover loss: Earns No. 4 seed for conference tournament

With a win and New Hanover win: Earns No. 5 seed for conference tournament

South Brunswick (vs. West Brunswick)

Already guaranteed No. 8 seed for conference tournament regardless of result

Topsail (vs. North Brunswick)

With a win and West Brunswick loss: Earns No. 6 seed for conference tournament

With a win and West Brunswick win: Earns No. 7 seed for conference tournament

West Brunswick (at South Brunswick)

With a win: Earns No. 6 seed for conference tournament

With a loss and Topsail loss: Earns No. 6 seed for conference tournament
