Middle School Roundup will be published each Saturday. Results and stats are compiled through emails from coaches and athletic directors. If you don’t see a result from your team, please encourage your coach or AD to start emailing them to tim@coastalpreps.com.

Trask 46, Noble 22

Tristan Shivers and Aniece Lewis combined for 37 points to help Trask roll to a home victory over their rival.

Shivers led all scorers with 25 points on 12 made field goals and a free throw. Lewis scored seven of her 12 points over the final six minutes. 

Trask (4-0) also got six points from Jillian Stough. The Bears led 17-2 after the first quarter and 25-5 at halftime.

Piper Conklin finished with 10 points to pace Noble (0-3).

Trask 39, Myrtle Grove 27

Tristan Shivers scored 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half and the Bears pulled away to finish unbeaten and claim a share of the New Hanover County championship.

Trask (5-0) and Roland-Grise (3-0) weren’t able to play due to COVID-19 and both finished undefeated. The Bears last won a title in 2009 and the Knights went unbeaten in 2019.

Aniece Lewis scored six points in the opening quarter to help Trask build an 11-8 lead. The advantage was 18-13 at halftime and 29-18 after three quarters.

Tisha Mathis chipped in six points in the win.

Myrtle Grove (3-1) got nine points from Jaeden Hudson as well as six a piece from Kylie Chienyuen and Ella Rose.

The Hurricanes ended their season with a hard-fought road victory.

Lanon Reese and Justin Ramirez each found the back of the net for Holly Shelter (2-2-0). 

Williston fell to 1-2-0 on the season.

Addison Woodcock scored three goals to increase his season total to a county-leading five and the Bears concluded their season with a home win.

Myrtle Grove (0-4-0) grabbed the lead in the 18th minute when Cameron Berry found the back of the net.

Woodcock put home his first goal in the 29th minute to even the score and added two more in the second half to put Trask (3-1-1) in front for good.

Bennett Casper added the final goal off an assist from Jeremy Ferraro. Robbie Feamster, Davis Hinshaw and Charlie Borelli each had an assist.

Goalkeeper Demetrius Smith made three saves.
