BASEBALL

Trask 5, Myrtle Grove 2

(Played Tuesday)

The Bears scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to earn a hard-fought win on the road.

No individual stats were provided for Trask (2-4).

Myrtle Grove (1-5) was led offensively by Asher Clendenning, Jahmeer Damon, Carter Ponnett, Elijah Setzer and Connor Dail.

Holly Shelter 8, Myrtle Grove 0

Pitchers Davis Croom and Wylie Reddick combined on a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the dominant road victory.

Croom earned the victory by striking out seven batters in four innings. Reddick finished with three strikeouts in his two innings on the mound.

Jackson Brooks and Evan Skobel both hit a triple for Holly Shelter (5-1).

Brooks also worked two walks and scored a pair of runs. Skobel finished 2-for-2 with two walks and four RBIs.

Leadoff batter Davis Croom crossed the plate twice. 

Myrtle Grove (1-6) pitchers Jahmeer Damon and Colin Beddard recorded four strikeouts and didn’t allow an earned run.

Trask 6, Murray 4

(Played Wednesday)

The Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and held on to secure their second victory of the week.

No individual stats were provided for Trask (3-4).

Maxton Ditta went 2-for-3 to lead Murray (3-3). Brock Adkins, Jude Moulton and Ethan Troutman all had a double.

Noble 3, Roland-Grise 0

(Played Wednesday)

Jason Sproull had a big game at the plate and on the mound to keep the Eagles unbeaten.

He went 3-for-4 with a double and a two-out RBI single in the fourth inning that increased Noble’s (6-0) lead to 2-0.

Sproull allowed only one hit to go along with six strikeouts in five innings. Mason Jones recorded the save by recording the final three outs.

Adler Stumpf went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored, while Aiden Woods also collected two hits.

Roland-Grise (4-3) starter Camden Croom was the hard-luck loser despite allowing only two runs with three strikeouts in four innings.

The Hurricanes finished with nine hits from six players in the mercy-rule victory.

Davis Croom, Amari Givens and Wylie Reddick all went 2-for-2. Croom and Jackson Brooks scored twice, while Evan Skobel crossed the plate three times.

Holly Shelter (6-1) got two RBIs a piece from Dylan Cooper, Braeden Langan and Justin Taylor.

Brooks pitched a complete game and allowed only one hit. He struck out eight batters and issued a walk.

Brock Adkins had a double and a walk to lead Murray (3-4). He also recorded three strikeouts in his lone inning on the mound.

Noble 6, Williston 0

Tate Nelson and Aiden Woods combined on a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the road win.

Nelson worked four innings and recorded nine strikeouts to earn the victory. Woods had four strikeouts in his two innings.

Noble (7-0) got two hits a piece from Nick Marren, Lucas Mathews and Jason Sproull. Marren had a double and a triple.

With the loss, Williston fell to 0-6.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Roland-Grise 7, Trask 2

Joy Mutako had with a hat trick and Katie Coble chipped in two goals to give the Knights a win.

Roland-Grise (2-3) also got one goal a piece from Riley McNulty and Sloane Spencer.

Julia Campbell finished with a goal and an assist for Trask (1-4). Kayla Anderson had the other goal.

Goalie Makenly Horrell finished with seven saves.

Holly Shelter 5, Willison 1

(Played Wednesday)

The Hurricanes remained unbeaten thanks to a two-goal performance from Carsyn Kane.

Halle Dickerson, Kate Holliman and Sadie Russ had the other goals for Holly Shelter (4-0).

Williston (0-4) goalies Stella Swart-Garcia and Jordyn Chavis each played a half and come up with several saves. The Tigers’ lone goal was scored by Pearl Vasquez.

Murray 12, Noble 7

Palyn Everhart found the back of the net five times to keep the Falcons unbeaten and tied atop the standings.

Kieran Bradley and Kyndal Fox each added two goals, while Kendall Blackburn, Addie Geller and Sadie Miles put home the other Murray (4-0) goals.

Goalie Emersyn Oxendine made five saves.

The loss dropped Noble to 2-1.

Hat tricks from Kellan Krowl and Ethan Tribble lifted the Falcons to a nonconference victory.

Three goalies – Clark Marriott, Jonathan Bernardo and Porter Harrison – all saw time and held the  vistors in check.

Murray got a pair of goals from Curren Engligh as well as one a piece from Harris McKoy, Jacob Galloway and Jacob Petracek. 

Raleigh Sutton and Andrew Whitby dished out a pair of assists.

The talented teams battle to a tie after neither scored in overtime.

Murray (2-1-1) got 16 saves from goalie Clark Marriott. Harris McKoy won five face-offs and scored twice, while Ethan Tribble also put home two goals.

Grady Donaton, Raleigh Sutton and Andrew Whitby had the other goals.

No individual state were provided for Noble (3-0-1).

Lauren Austin reeled off 21 straight service sets in the opening set, and the Bears completed the sweep by claiming the second set as well.

Trask improved to 3-3 on the season, while Myrtle Grove slipped to 1-5.

Roland-Grise 2, Noble 0 (25-12, 25-14)

The Knights handed the Eagles their first loss of the season thanks to a team-high six kills and five digs from Chloe Stowe.

Payton Jones added five kills, four digs and thee aces, while Baylor Everett handed out 12 assists. Daisy Gould led Roland-Grise (5-2) with 11 digs.

Noble fell to 5-1 with the loss.
