The Hurricanes built a 6-0 halftime lead and held on for a convincing home victory.

Halle Dickerson and Ava Meacham each finished with a game-high three goals to go along with one assist. Adrianna Cinelli added one goal and two assists. 

Holly Shelter (2-0) also got one goal a piece from JK Hardin, Sadie Russ and Mia Shade.

Goalkeeper Caroline Borum made nine saves to keep Roland-Grise (0-2) off the board until late in the contest.

BOYS LACROSSE

Jordan Tun scored the game-tying goal with seven seconds remaining to complete a terrific comeback from Holly Shelter.

Roland-Grise (0-1-1) led 3-1 late in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t seal the victory as Tun scored back-to-back goals.

Finn Viorel had Holly Shelter’s (0-1-1) other goal. Nick D’Josey won 100 percent of the faceoffs he took and the defense was anchored by Isaac D’Meza and goalkeeper Nathan Foster.

No individual stats were reported for the Knights.

Carter Ponnett turned in a terrific pitching performance and also collected a pair of hits at the plate to lead the Gators to their first victory  of the season.

Jahmeer Damon came on in relief and finished off the win.

Myrtle Grove (1-1) also got hits from Elijah Setzer and Matt Saciwicz.

Williston fell to 0-1 with the loss.

Holly Shelter 4, Roland-Grise 3 (7 innings)

Davis Croom scored the game-winning run on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the seventh to complete the comeback.

Croom hit a one-out single to center field and advanced to second base on an error. Justin Taylor was intentionally walked to load the bases.

The first pitch to Wylie Reddick got away from the Roland-Grise (0-2) catcher and allowed Croom to cross the plate.

Holly Shelter (2-0) trailed 3-0 after four innings. They were able to even the score in the fifth. Taylor and Evan Skobel both had big hits.

Croom was also the winning pitcher after striking out seven batters in 3 2/3 hitless innings. Starter Jackson Brooks allowed three unearned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts in his 2 2/3 innings. 

Camden Croom led the Knights offensively with a single and a walk. 

Roland-Grise starter Aiden Weninger didn’t factor into the decision despite allowing one run on one hit with seven strikeouts in four innings.

Noble 10, Trask 0 (4 innings)

(Played Monday)

Jason Sproull and Tate Nelson combined on a no-hitter with eight strikeouts and only one walk in the mercy-rule road win.

Sproull earned the victory by striking out six batters in three innings. Nelson worked the final inning and struck out a pair.

Noble (2-0) was led offensively by Mason Jones, who finished 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

Nelson, Nick Marren and Aiden Woods all had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Sproull walked twice and scored two times.

The loss dropped Trask to 0-2.

Roland-Grise 12, Murray 2 (4 innings)

The Knights earned their first victory of the season by scoring at least one run in every inning.

Once again, Camden Croom led the way by going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Aiden Weninger had a double, two walks, two RBIs and one run scored.

Max Biba struck out two batters and allowed only one run in 3 2/3 innings to secure the victory.

Murray (1-1) got a 3-for-3 performance from leadoff batter Jude Moulton. 

Noble 14, Myrtle Grove 0 (4 innings)

(Played Wednesday)

A 12-run third inning that featured 11 walks put the Eagles up for good and helped them record their third straight shutout win.

Adler Stumpf had a single, two walks, four RBIs and a pair of runs scored.

Nick Marren drove in two runs and crossed the plate twice, while Dylan Fortun doubled, walked, scored one run and added two RBIs.

Jason Sproull, Lucas Mathews and Owen Gore all scored a pair of runs.

Mathews allowed only one hit in three innings to earn the victory. Aiden Woods struck out the side in the fourth inning.

Myrtle Grove is now 1-2.

Roland-Grise 2, Holly Shelter 1 (25-13, 23-25, 15-7)

Payton Jones put down a team-high seven kills and also served seven aces to lead the Knights to a hard-fought victory.

Roland-Grise (1-1) also got six assists and three aces from Baylor Everett as well as six aces from Easton Fox. Avery Fitzgerald chipped in three kills.

With the loss, Holly Shelter fell to 1-1.

Murray 2, Roland-Grise 1 (25-16, 20-25, 15-13)

The thrilling match came down to the final two points, which were both won by the Falcons to complete a remarkable comeback.

Murray (2-0) trailed 10-4 in the deciding set before storming back.  

Sarah Brannin, Nina Cave, Addy Barberich and and Caroline Tarkington all had big performances for the Falcons.

Payton Jones finished with a season-high 11 kills to lead the way for Roland-Grise (1-2). Baylor Everett dished out seven assists and Daisy Gould served five aces.
