With several high school sports seasons coming to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in cross country, swimming & diving and volleyball.

The Coastal Preps Girls Co-Swimmer of the Year is junior Callie Parkes from Hoggard.

Callie’s Accomplishments

Callie Parkes had one of the best individual seasons from an area female swimmer in the last decade.

She finished as the runner-up in the 50 freestyle at the 4A State Championship with a season-best time of 23.20. Later in the meet, Parkes set a new season-best of 50.95 in the 100 freestyle to earn a third-place finish. She also swam the freestyle leg on the 200 medley relay, which finished 11th in 1:51.46.

A week earlier at the 4A East Regional, Parkes won the 50 and 100 freestyles. She helped Hoggard claim the Mideastern Conference title by winning the 100 freestyle and 200 medley relay.

Parkes had the four fastest times in the 100 freestyle in the area. She also had the fastest 50 freestyle time and swam the anchor leg on the fastest 200 medley relay.
