With the fall high school sports season coming to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in girls tennis, girls golf, boys cross country, girls cross country, boys soccer and volleyball. Football will be published shortly after the conclusion of the season.

The Coastal Preps Volleyball Co-Player of the Year is junior Martin-Maine Wrangell from Hoggard.

Martin-Maine’s Accomplishments

Hoggard’s Martin-Maine Wrangell finished the season with a team-high 338 kills and a .240 hitting percentage.

She also added 238 digs, 56 aces and 39 blocks to lead the Vikings to a 24-7 record, a share of the Mideastern Conference regular season title, the MEC Tournament title and a spot in fourth round of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs.

Wrangell reached double digits in kills in 19 matches, including a season-high 21 on back-to-back nights against New Hanover and Ashley in the conference tournament semifinals and finals.

Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?: I listen to a throwback playlist and I warm up with Gracie Sistrunk every game.

If you could play another sport professionally, what would it be?: Soccer

Who is your biggest role model?: My mom

What is your dream job?: Dentist
