With the spring high school sports season complete, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys golf, boys tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer, softball and baseball

The Coastal Preps Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year is junior Katie Witmer of Hoggard

Katie’s Accomplishments

Witmer led the Vikings to a Mideastern Conference title and a spot in the fourth round of the playoffs by scoring 56 goals to go along with 19 assists for a team-high 75 points. The junior also had 53 ground balls, 17 takeaways and 74 draw controls.

She scored three or more goals in 11 of the team’s 17 games, including a season-high seven in a 14-9 victory over Topsail on March 20. In a pair of one-goal wins over rival Ashley, Witmer found the back of the net five times and added a pair of assists.
