2022 Boys Tennis Player of the Year: Alan Dimock
Now that the spring sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls lacrosse, boys golf, girls soccer, softball and baseball.
The Coastal Preps Boys Tennis Player of the Year is senior Alan Dimock from New Hanover.
Alan’s Accomplishments
In his final high school season, Alan Dimock helped the Wildcats claim the Mideastern Conference title for the sixth time in seven seasons with his outstanding play at the top of the lineup.
He finished with an overall record of 29-4 while mostly playing No. 1 singles and doubles.
Dimock went 13-1 in singles (11-1 at No. 1 and 2-0 at No. 2) and won 25 of the 28 sets he played. Nineteen of those winning sets came by a score of 6-0, 6-1 or 8-0.
In doubles, Dimock finished with an impressive 16-3 record. He teamed up with Augie Ballantine for a second straight Mideastern Conference title. The duo advanced to the 4A East Regional final and made the quarterfinals at states.
