BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Hoggard 145, Ashley 61, Topsail 52, North Brunswick 14

The Vikings were victorious in a pair of relays and seven individual events to roll to an 84-point victory.

Freshman Jackson Travis had a new season-high height of 6-2 to win the high jump. 

Max Chew (43-10 in shot put) and Ethan Panz (12-0 in pole vault) also victories in field events.

On the track, Christon Petway (200-meter dash in 22.98), William Holmes (400 in 51.62), Andrew Wallace (800 in 2:01.27), and Evan Pena (1,600 in 4:29.23) all crossed the finish line first.

Hoggard’s relay wins came in the 4×400 (3:30.37) and 4×800 (8:59.99).

Ashley junior Malakai Hill had distances of 20-6.5 in long jump and 41-6 in triple jump, while William Marhold completed the 3,200 in 10:00.56.

Tristin Reutter of Topsail continued his dominance in hurdles by winning the 110 in 16.14 and 300 in 43.40. Nathan Lau threw 144-9 in discus and Darnell Gustus finished the 100 in 11.32. 

The Pirates were also victorious in the 4×100 (45.90) and 4×200 (1:33.69) relays.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Hoggard 122.5, Ashley 56, North Brunswick 49, Topsail 44.5

Junior Molly Parker captured the 800-meter run in 2:25.80 and the 1,600 in 5:10.70 to lead Hoggard to a meet victory.

The Vikings also got individual wins from Regan Williams (300 hurdles in 51.20) and Molly Brinker (9-0 in pole vault). The 4×400 relay crossed the finish line first in a time of 4:24.07.

Ashley’s Makayla Grice sprinted her way to victories in the 200 (26.32) and 400 (1:00.57). Izzy Di Norcia cleared 4-8 in high jump, while Tiana Coetze had a distance of 87-11 to claim the discus competition.

The Screaming Eagles also secured six points by winning the 4×800 relay (11:10.44).

North Brunswick won the 4×100 (51.26) and 4×200 (1:49.29) relays. Tamiya Oates (100 in 12.83) and Jasmine Colwell (36-3 in shot put) earned the team’s individual victories.

Jency Paliotti and Ani Bacchus of Topsail tied in long jump with distances of 15-3. Paliotti had a jump of 34-11 in triple jump. Helena Swain won the 100 hurdles (17.74), while Kaitlyn Obremski cruised in the 3,200 (11:24.30).

BOYS LACROSSE

Hoggard 13, Fuquay-Varina 4

The Vikings were a perfect 21-for-21 on face-offs in the home nonconference victory.

Sophomore Jeremy Conklin won all 14 of his attempts, while junior Cole Luhrsen won the other seven.

Hoggard (12-0) goalkeeper Tommy Burgee made seven saves. The offense was led by Eric Wagner, who finished with a hat trick. 

Kyle McCarthy and Zachary Coyle each had two goals and one assist, while Trey Parkes and Jake Stone both found the back of the net one to go along with an assist.

The other goals were scored by Aidan Flynn, Nick Nelson, Sean Hession and Conrad Newman. 

The Vikings visit Topsail on Thursday at 6:45 p.m.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Topsail 15, New Hanover 2

From Tuesday

Tatum Riggins and Lillian Austin both put home their 100th career goal in a home win that kept the Pirates unbeaten.

Austin scored four goals to go along with one assist and eight draw controls, while Riggins finished with a hat trick.

Topsail (13-0, 10-0 Mideastern) also got four goals and two assists from Taryn Ugliono as well as two goals and five assists from Riley Nee. 

Logan Keenan found the back of the net twice and also handed out one assist.

Goalkeeper Clara Smith stopped five of the seven shots she faced.

The Pirates welcome Hoggard at 5 p.m. Thursday.

GIRLS SOCCER

No. 10 West Brunswick 2, No. 8 New Hanover 0

Sophomore Isabella Serrano scored both goals in the first half to help the Trojans earn a road victory.

West Brunswick (5-7, 2-5 Mideastern) goalkeeper Lauren Eubanks stopped all four shots she faced to earn the clean sheet.

New Hanover (1-4-2, 1-3-1) goalkeeper Bella Ellison finished with three saves. 

Next up for the Trojans is a home match against Ashley on Thursday night at 5:30. The Wildcats visit North Brunswick at 5 p.m. Thursday.
