No. 1 Hoggard 4, No. 24 Southern Alamance

Third round NCHSAA 4A playoffs

One of the most decorated program in the state advanced to the fourth round of the playoffs for the eighth time since 2010. 

Senior Bella Steiner headed in the game-winning goal in the 18th minute. Hoggard (20-1-1) tacked on an insurance goal in the 30th minute from Chaylen Hines.

Ella Johnson and Carlie Moroz each finished with one assist.

Goalkeepers Allie Fox and Avery Kievit shared the clean sheet. Fox faced three shots and saved all of them.

The Vikings will look to reach their third straight 4A East final on Thursday night at 6 p.m. when the host the winner of No. 5 Holly Springs/No. 13 Heritage. That match was postponed and will played Tuesday.

Dating back to 2010, Hoggard has a remarkable postseason record of 34-11.
