Sass-Holmes Memorial Duals

at Rosewood

North Brunswick finished with a 3-2 which included victories over Neuse Charter School (48-12), South Stokes (42-24) and Smithfield-Selma (60-12).

The Scorpions suffered losses to West Johnston (40-39) and Athens Drive (52-21).

Junior Caden Farris (106 pounds), senior Tristan Marks (182/195) and senior Cameron Gurkin (220/285) all went 5-0 on the day.

Farris had a pair of pins, two forfeits and a hard-fought 13-12 decision against Athens Drives.

All five of Marks’ victories came via pin. Gurkin recorded three pins, received a forfeit and picked up a 3-0 decision against West Johnston.

Tyler Sznaider (113) and Anthony Martells (170) both went 4-1, while Levi Scurlock (132) and Taylor Sznaider (138) finished 3-2.

North Brunswick (4-4) hosts Topsail on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. 

Rams Duals

at Cleveland

Ethan McCullough, Noah Harrell and Mason Howlett all went 5-0 on the day to help South Brunswick captured victories in four of its five matches.

McCullough recorded four pins and also had a 7-0 decision while spending time at 113 and 120 pounds. The junior is now 11-0 on the season with nine pins.

Harrell had three pins and a pair of forfeits at 170. Howlett received two forfeits to go along with a pin and a pair of decisions at 182 and 195.

Three other Cougars – Lily Prendergast (106/113), Cameron Eurioles (145/152) and Chris Salgado (160) – finished 4-1. Logan Harrell (132) and John Lee (195/220) both went 3-2.

Sophomore heavyweight Damian Weaver recorded pins in both matches he wrestled.

South Brunswick (7-1) earned victories over Clayton (39-35), Cleveland (51-30), Fike (51-30) and Green Hope (57-24).

Their only loss came against Havelock by a score of 48-36, but the Cougars gave up five forfeits and only received three. That 12-point swing proved to be the difference.
