Ellie’s Accomplishments
Ellie Hildreth’s season can be summed up in one word – dominant.
The Hoggard sophomore won all seven 18-hole Mideastern Conference matches, finishing under par in four of them. Her season-low scores of 69 came at Castle Bay (seven birdies in the round) and Landfall (five birdies in the round).
Hildreth finished her remarkable season with a nine-hole scoring average of 36.6.
She won the Mideastern Conference title for a second straight year by shooting 73 at Landfall on October 10. Her 536 total strokes over all eight MEC matches were 67 better than Ashley’s Sarah Enright.
With Hildreth leading the way, Hoggard cruised to a second straight league title. The Vikings also claimed the 4A East Regional for the first time in more than 20 years by finishing with a score of 246.
Hildreth was the runner-up at regionals with a 76. She went on to finish in a tie for 13th at the 4A State Championship after shooing 76-81 despite being under the weather.
