Local Athlete/Coaches Q&As: April 7, 2020

During this time of uncertainty, one thing I am certain about is that we have terrific student athletes and coaches in this area.

Over the next few weeks or months, I’m going to spotlight as many of them as I can through online Q&A’s. Any high school or middle school student athlete or coach in Brunswick, New Hanover or Pender counties interested in participating should email me at tim@coastalpreps.com.

What sport(s) do you participate in at your school? Baseball

If you have committed or signed with a college, where will you be continuing your career and why did you choose that school? I have committed to Fayetteville Tech Community College to play baseball. I chose FTCC because I feel like it’s a perfect fit for me as a player and student.

What is your favorite food? Lemon Chicken Pasta

What is your favorite restaurant? Cookout

What is your favorite movie? Guardians of the Galaxy

What is your favorite TV show? All American

Who are your favorite teams (college or professional)? Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins

Who is your favorite athlete? Julian Edelman

What is your favorite memory from your career? Hitting a home run in my last game as a senior and of my high school career.

Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals? Praying before each game.

What hobbies do you have outside of participating in sports? Poker nights, basketball, a little golf and just hanging out with friends.

What app on your phone do you use the most? Snapchat

What is your dream job? Playing professional baseball or going into the military.

If you could have dinner with any 3 people (dead or alive), who would they be? Julian Edelman, Tom Brady and Dustin Pedroia

How are you passing the time during this time of social distancing? Working out, going to the batting cages, playing golf, playing board games with family and playing Xbox.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Alaska

What is your favorite memory from your career? Making the varsity soccer team as a freshman.

What hobbies do you have outside of participating in sports? I love going to the beach and going on the boat with my friends.

How are you passing the time during this time of social distancing? I love going on runs and focusing on staying fit.

How are you passing the time during this time of social distancing? Getting my school work done and grinding and working on some basketball drills.
