2021-22 Boys Swimmer of the Year: Will Sterrett

Now that the winter sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys and girls basketball, boys and girls swimming and wrestling.

The Coastal Preps Boys Swimmer of the Year is senior Will Sterrett from Hoggard.

Will’s Accomplishments

Will Sterrett had a remarkable final high school season that culminated with four top-15 finishes at the 4A State Championship.

Sterrett finished seventh in the 100 backstroke and 11th in the 100 butterfly. He also swam on a pair of relays – 200 medley (12th) and 200 freestyle (15th).

The Grove City (Pa.) signee had the six fastest 100 butterfly times in the area, including a season best of 51.32 at the 4A East Regional.

He also had the fastest 100 backstroke time (51.56) and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:00.27) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:01.86).

Sterrett was a member of the six fastest 200 medley relays and the top four 200 freestyle relays.

At the Mideastern Conference Championship, Sterrett had four victories to lead the Vikings to the team title.
