The Knights got their season off to a great start as six different players found the back of the net.

LJ Wilson, Ayla York, Ellis Kelly, Chaylen Hines, Avery Smith and Addy Delavore all scored for Roland-Grise (1-0), which didn’t allow a shot on goal from Holly Shelter (0-1).

Noble 4, Trask 2

Dakota Workman made 14 saves and Annie Mulligan scored a pair of goals to help the Eagles pick up a season-opening road victory.

Noble’s (1-0) other goals came from AG Cazeault and Rhodes Gould. 

Rachel McGrath found the back of the net twice for Trask (0-1).

Myrtle Grove 9, Willison 0

The Gators opened the season with a dominant victory as seven different players scored.

Mikayla Murray had a pair of goals to lead Myrtle Grove (1-0). Ainsley Bell, Sarah Brannin, Lilly McCain, Logan Campbell, Kaitlyn Marcinowski and Evy Renneker also found the back of the net.

Anna Benfield, Karina Peat, Kylee Doyle, Kylie Peat, Maris Toppin, Sadie Hatchell and Zoe Finelli all scored in the dominant season-opening home victory.

Murray (1-0) goalkeepers Emerson Shuttleworth and Morgan Tucker combined on the clean sheet.

Trask 8, Willison 1

The Bears gave new coach Jamie Noble his first victory thanks to a four-goal performance from Avery Lyden.

Rachel McGrath, Logan Keenan, Caitlin Cronemiller and Olivia Wilson also found the back of the net for Trask (1-1).

Williston dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Murray 4, Roland-Grise 0

Goalkeepers Emerson Shuttleworth and Morgan Tucker earned their second shutout of the week and the Falcons went on the road to earn a key victory over the defending champions.

Maris Toppin led the Murray (2-0) offense with a pair of goals, while twins Karina and Kiley Peat each had a goal.

Roland-Grise is now 1-1.

Myrtle Grove 2, Noble 1

Logan Campbell and Lilly McCain each scored to help the Gators pick up their second win of the week.

Myrtle Grove (2-0) goalkeeper Meadow Matthews finished with eight saves.

Noble fell to 1-1 with the loss.

Blake Batts scored 10 of his game-high 16 points in the opening half to help keep the Cardinals unbeaten.

Judson Davenport added nine points and Reagan Printy chipped in six. Southeastern Homeschool (4-0) put the game away by scoring 16 points in the fourth quarter.

WCA was led by Chase Salling, who scored seven points. 

Southeastern Homeschool 30, Cape Fear Academy 28

The Cardinals closed the game on a 20-6 run to earn a come-from-behind victory. 

Blake Batts scored eight of his team-high 14 points during the run, including three late free throws to seal the win. Jacob Rhodes scored six of his seven points in the final quarter to help Southeastern Homeschool improve to 5-0. 

CFA was led by John Frank, who put in a game-high 17 points.

Josh Helms buried four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 18 points and the Hurricanes opened the season with a comfortable road victory.

Holly Shelter (1-0) led by 10 at halftime before outscoring the Knights (0-1) 21-5 in a dominant third quarter. Rodmik Allen chipped in 14 points JaQuan Bowen finished with nine points.

Brody Justice led Roland-Grise with nine points and Jason Smith added seven.

Noble 50, Trask 37

Sam Parker Crittenden led the way with 15 points to help the defending league champions open the season with a win.

Noble (1-0) also got a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds from Will Myatt.

Murray 28, Virgo 23

Coen Locklear scored eight points and Vincent Agrillo added seven to give the Falcons a season-opening victory.

Murray (1-0) also got three points a piece from Nate Hall and Jeffrey Polanco. 

Williston 52, Myrtle Grove 37

The Tigers began the season with a road victory thanks to a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists from Zeus Batts.

Tyran Bell led Williston (1-0) with 16 points.

Roland-Grise 43, Murray 19

Nine players scored in the dominant home victory that evened the Knights record.

Reid Lisk scored eight of his game-high 12 points in the fourth quarter. Roland-Grise (1-1) also got eight points from Jason Smith and six from Jayzion Davis.

Murray fell to 1-1 on the season.

Willison 49, Trask 18

Tyran Bell led the Tigers in scoring for the second straight game, finishing with 17 points in the lopsided win. 

Williston (2-0) also got 10 points from Ben Flynn and 12 assists and six points from Zeus Batts.

The loss dropped Trask to 0-2.

Myrtle Grove 29, Noble 22

The Gators built a 19-8 halftime lead and held on to even their record.

Karma Fulton led Myrtle Grove (1-1) with 16 points and M’kel Bellamy finished with seven.

Noble (1-1) was led by Graham Whitehead, who scored 12 points by going 4-for-4 from 3-point range.

Holly Shelter 56, Virgo 32

Four Hurricanes reached double figures in the dominant victory that saw them score 39 points in the opening half.

Blake Longan finished with 12 points and Seth Thurston chipped in 11. Josh Helms and Rodmik Allen each scored 10 for Holly Shelter (2-0).

Virgo dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Southeastern Homeschool 52, South Wake Homeschool 43

After scoring only five points in the opening quarter, the Cardinals exploded for 20 in the second period to take a 25-23 lead into halftime.

Reagan Printy led all scorers with 15 points by going 8 of 12 from the free throw line. Blake Batts added 14 points for Southeastern Homeschool (6-0), while Jacob Rhodes finished with nine points.

The Cardinals scored at least 13 points in every quarter to stay unbeaten.

Blake Batts went 7 of 11 from the field en route to a game-high 23 points. Southeastern Homeschool (7-0) also got 13 points from Reagan Printy and eight from Brice Griffin.
