Now that the spring sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls lacrosse, boys golf, girls soccer, softball and baseball.
The Coastal Preps Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year is sophomore Lillian Austin from Topsail.
Lillian’s Accomplishments
In her two years at Topsail, Lillian Austin has helped the girls lacrosse program reach new heights.
With Austin leading the way, the Pirates won a school-record 19 games this spring and reached the fourth round of the NCHSAA playoffs for the first time.
Austin set a new program record with 103 goals, besting the 88 scored by Taylor Ketchum in 2007.
She added 35 assists, 39 ground balls, 27 caused turnovers and 172 draw controls in 21 matches. Her 138 points led the Mideastern Conference.
Austin scored at least five goals in 13 contests. She had a season-high nine against Coastal North Carolina Homeschool on April 6.

Favorite memory from your career: Bus rides with front row seats to Logan Keenan’s rapping.
Favorite thing about your school or team: I love how our team acts as a family, which shows in the way we play together on the field.
Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?: I always eat oatmeal for breakfast and listen to 6ix9ine before the game.
Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, what is your favorite treat?: I love a good chocolate chip cookie.
What app on your phone do you use the most?: I probably use snapchat the most to talk to my friends.
If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose?: Revolve
Would you rather hang out by the pool or on the beach?: I’m more of a pool type of gal.
Do you prefer cold or hot weather?: Hot weather
What is a skill you are bad at that you wish you could master?: I wish I could play the piano.
Would you rather watch a movie at home or in the theater?: At home
