BOYS BASKETBALL

Roland-Grise 40, Williston 33 (OT)

Desyn Durand hit a pair of free throws to send the game to overtime, and the Knights controlled the extra period to avenge an earlier-season loss.

Durand finished with seven points. Roland-Grise (8-3) was led by Nakula O’Connor’s 10 points.

Hunter McGrath scored all nine of his points in the second half and overtime, while Matthew Boring chipped in eight.

Williston (9-2) got a game-high 15 points from Ja’Zir Wright-McGhee. Kam Witherspoon also reached double figures with 10.

Trask 46, Holly Shelter 14

Jayden Walker and Kilby Theiss-Dixon combined for 23 points in the home victory.

Walker led all scorers with 14 points, including 10 in the opening half. Theiss-Dixon chipped in nine points.

Trask (5-6) also got eight points from Braylon Quitman.

Banks Kline paced Holly Shelter (3-8) with six points. 

Murray 41, Myrtle Grove 32

(Played Tuesday)

The Falcons ended 2022 with a home win over their rival behind 13 points from Julian Morrison.

Parker Brown added 12 points and Aiden Wilkinson finished with nine for Murray (5-6).

With the loss, Myrtle Grove fell to 3-8.

Ava Gregorio found the back of the net twice for the Knights, who remained in first place.

Airlie Altman, Elise Hunneyman and Sophie Scott added the other goals for Roland-Grise (9-1).

Goalkeepers Emma Britt and Kylah Long shared the clean sheet.

Williston is now 0-7-2.

A second half penalty kick from Olivia Hennessy proved to be the difference.

Holly Shelter (3-6) also won the first meeting between the teams by a score of 6-0.

Trask slipped to 0-8-2 on the season.

Murray 4, Myrtle Grove 1

Arianna Marshall finished with a hat trick to help the Falcons cruise at home.

Five of Marshall’s nine goals this season have come against the Gators. 

Murray’s (7-1-1) other goal was scored by Kiley Hanyock. Goalkeeper Lily Hauck had a terrific performance.

Myrtle Grove is now 7-3.
