BOYS BASKETBALL

Williston 46, Roland-Grise 39

(Played Tuesday)

A 14-point performance from Damonte Hill helped the Tigers move above .500. 

Alex Gurganious and Jacorri Potts each chipped in 10 points. Williston (3-2) trailed 7-6 after the first quarter before grabbing an 18-13 halftime advantage. 

Roland-Grise (3-2) got 13 points a piece from Micah Hunter and Logan Pearce. 

Holly Shelter 21, Trask 19

(Played Tuesday)

A hard-fought battle for first place in the standings went to the visiting Hurricanes. 

Lennox Bolden scored eight points to pace Holly Shelter (5-0). Jordin Cauble added six points.

The Bears dropped to 4-1.

Murray 30, Myrtle Grove 20

(Played Tuesday)

The showdown between rivals went to the Falcons, who got a team-high nine points from Noah Willoughby. 

Baker Gulledge added seven points. Dez Hoffman finished with five for Murray, which improved to 2-3.

Myrtle Grove remained winless at 0-5.

Noble 56, Virgo 14

(Played Tuesday)

The Eagles stormed out to a 15-4 lead after the opening quarter before adding 20 more points in the second quarter to pull away for good.

Mikey Crittenden made a pair of 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 16 points. 

Noble (3-2) made nine shots from beyond the arc. Isaiah Williams chipped in eight points.

Virgo fell to 0-5 with the loss.

Roland-Grise 37, Trask 30

(Played Thursday)

The Knights outscored the Bears 12-4 in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory. 

Logan Pearce scored six of his game-high 14 points over the final six minutes. Roland-Grise (4-2) also got 10 points from Graham McNeely.

Parker Akin and Niko Warren both scored eight points for Trask (4-2).

Williston 47, Holly Shelter 23

An exceptional defensive effort gave the Tigers a road win over the previously unbeaten Hurricanes. 

Damonte Hill led a balanced Williston (4-2) scoring attack with 12 points. Alex Gurganious added nine points, Emery Brown scored eight and Jacorri Potts finished with seven.

Holly Shelter (5-1) got six points from Ty Duleba.

Noble 54, Murray 20

(Played Thursday)

Standout Mikey Crittenden scored 24 points for the second time in three games, and the Eagles rolled on the road. 

Noble (4-2) also got eight points from Banks Thomas. 

Dez Hoffman paced Murray (2-4) with six points.

The Falcons earned their third shutout victory of the season behind the play of goalkeepers Lily Hauck and Charlotte Bailey.

Hauck, Maddie Hester, Ari Marshall and Ella Zeisloft all found the back of the net for Murray (3-1). 

The loss dropped Myrtle Grove to 3-2.

Roland-Grise 9, Williston 1

(Played Tuesday)

Riley McNulty finished with a hat trick and one assist in another dominant victory for the unbeaten Knights. 

Airlie Altman added two goals and one assist, while Phoebe Asoegwu found the back of the net three times. Roland-Grise’s (4-0) other goal was scored by Addie Coyle.

Innie Hackler, Taylor Jones, Mary Ray, Tavi Schwartz and Wren York all dished out one assist.

Williston’s (1-3) lone goal was scored by Callie Manoccio off an assist from Sofia Boomershine.

The Hurricanes scored a pair of second-half goals to secure their second victory of the week.

No individual stats were provided for Holly Shelter (2-3).

Williston (1-4) goalkeeper Mackenzie Cuba made six saves. 

Roland-Grise 9, Trask 0

Addie Coyle and Riley McNulty both put home a pair of goals in the mercy-rule win.

McNulty leads all area players with 14 goals on the season.

Roland-Grise (5-0), which has outscored its five opponents 38-6, also got one goal a piece from Bailey Barr, Mary Ray, Tavi Schwartz and Wren York.

Airlie Altman, Claire Brigman and Brooklyn Crumbacker dished out an assist. Goalkeeper Lily Walters earned the clean sheet by stopping the only shot she faced.

Trask remained winless at 0-6. 

Murray 4, Noble 0

(Played Thursday)

For the second time in three days, the Falcons scored four goals and didn’t allow any.

Kiley Hanyock put home two goals, while Marie Daly and Trinity Seymour added one a piece. 

The Murray (4-1) defense was led by Addi Fisher, Scout Hatchell and Cora Spann. Goalkeepers Lily Hauck and Charlotte Bailey shared the clean sheet.

Noble is now 3-2 on the season.
