Williston earned the team victory and seven Coastal Preps Cup points by placing four runners in the top 20 at the season-ending meet.

The Tigers were led by seventh graders Emma Rodgers (second in 12:24.59), Caroline Burdette (fifth in 13:05.31) and Sofia Boomershine (13th in 13:41.10). 

The other counting scores came from Kelty Walker (18th in 14:14.17) and Banner Nelson (24th in 14:21.60).

Roland-Grise eighth grader Mia Medlin completed an unbeaten season by crossing the finish line first in a time of 12:07.38. 

Teammates Elise Hunneyman (sixth in 13:06.23) and Natalie Hanson (12th in 13:40.71) also had excellent performances.

Bass Academy’s Sadie Bass (third in 12:45.87) and Wilmington Christian Academy’s Sophia Bush (fourth in 12:58.78) rounded out the top five.

Eighth grader Riley Kiziah had a season-best time of 10:54.20 to claim the individual victory and help Roland-Grise win the team title that also came with seven Coastal Preps Cup points.

The Knights, who had finished second behind Noble in the first three meets of the season, had four other top-20 finishes. They came from Garrett Hall (10th in 12:02.76), Gabe Nalepa (12th in 12:21.96), Alex Wirszyla (14th in 12:31.55) and Lee McLamb (19th in 12:42.50).

Murray had its highest finish of the season thanks to outstanding runs from Jamar Brumm (third in 11:19.83) and Colten Wescoe (sixth in 11:38.19).

Noble competed without its top runner – Taj Morgan – who won two of the previous three events. 

Rounding out the top five were Holly Shelter teammates George Adams (second in 11:07.93) and Tawand Bennett (fourth in 11:21.83) as well as Jake Mungo of Myrtle Grove (fifth in 11:35.69).

The Tigers bounced back from their first loss of the season by picking up a hard-fought home victory. 

Tanahri Johnson returned an interception for a touchdown. Williston (3-1) also got touchdowns from Lazion Allen and Alex Jenkins. 

With the loss, Holly Shelter fell to 1-3.

Roland-Grise 46, Trask 0

For the second straight game, the Knights defense didn’t allow a first down in a shutout victory.

Roland-Grise (5-0) hasn’t allowed a point in four consecutive contests. They’ve outscored their five opponents 160-12.

Matthew Boring, Desyn Durand, Micah Hunter, Brandon Bush, John Peter Meyers, Graham McNeely, Marshall Chalk and Liam Geib all found the end zone. 

Trask fell to 2-3 on the season.

Noble 24, Murray 0

Ronan Brady, Dylan Fortun and Ty Williams scored touchdowns for the Eagles, who improved to 3-1 and remained tied with Williston for second place in the standings. 

The teams will meet in the final game of the season on October 26.

Murray slipped to 0-4.

The Knights finished with 14 hits, including three from Sophie Gee, in the home win that completed the season sweep.

Roland-Grise (6-2) won the first meeting by a score of 8-6 on the road. 

Gee went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Logan Ulrich finished 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs scored.

Laina Toudle had a pair of hits, including a double. The Knights also got two RBIs and two runs scored from Ella Jones.

Holly Shelter (3-4) trailed 13-5 after five innings before scoring six runs in their final trip to the plate.

Caroline Borum was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple, while Ansleigh Austin went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.

Trask 8, Noble 0

Briley Foster had a dominant performance in the circle to keep the Bears unbeaten.

It was Trask’s (8-0) third shutout of the season. No individual stats were provided. 

Noble fell to 3-4 with the loss.

Myrtle Grove 15, Williston 0 (3 innings)

The Gators scored nine runs in the first inning and six more in the second to cruise at home.

Pitcher Caylei Davidson allowed only one hit and recorded nine strikeouts. She also scored a pair of runs. 

Myrtle Grove (5-3) didn’t have a hit, but finished with 14 walks. 

With the loss, Williston slipped to 0-7.

Myrtle Grove 10, Noble 6

A six-run second inning gave the Gators a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. 

The big hit of the inning was a two-run home run from Adrianna Gomez that increased Myrtle Grove’s (6-3) lead to 7-3. Gomez was walked in her other three plate appearances. She crossed the plate three times.

Olivia Albertson had a big game by finishing 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and one run scored. Emi Birkle scored two runs. 

Amber Ochoa earned the victory in the circle by allowing three earned runs with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Noble (3-5) pitcher Carly Krueger was the hard-luck loser despite allowing only four earned runs with six strikeouts. She also had an RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning.

Pitchers Sophie Gee and Ellie Keene combined on a one-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

Roland-Grise (7-2) was led offensively by Gee, who went 2-for-2 with a walk and a pair of runs scored. Olivia Demetriou doubled and worked a pair of walks, while Avery Thompson had two stolen bases and crossed the plate twice.

Saylor Cross had Murray’s (1-7) lone hit to lead off the game.
