2021 Boys Golfer of the Year: Ryan Jahr

***ICYMI: Boys Tennis Player of the Year: Algernon Butler***

***ICYMI: Girls Golfer of the Year: Grace Holcomb***

With several high school sports seasons coming to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys tennis, boys and girls golf, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer and softball.

The Coastal Preps Boys Golfer of the Year is junior Ryan Jahr from West Brunswick.

Ryan’s Accomplishments

Consistency is what makes West Brunswick’s Ryan Jahr a special player. You will very rarely find him in trouble on the course and that allows him to stay away from double bogeys or worse.

Jahr had a terrific junior season by shooting in the 70s six times and also adding a 3-under-par 69 at Pine Valley Country Club. He finished with a stroke average of 74.7.

He earned medalist honors in five of the seven events he played, including the Mideastern Conference Championship at Magnolia Greens with an even-par 72. Jahr narrowly missed qualifying for the 3A State Championship after shooting a 75 at regionals. That round included three birdies and eight pars.
