Now that the winter sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next few days, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in swimming & diving, wrestling and basketball.

The Coastal Preps Girls Co-Wrestler of the Year is sophomore Lauren Hall from Trask. 

Lauren’s Accomplishments

After making a surprising run to the 132-pound final at the inaugural NCHSAA girls wrestling state championship, Lauren Hall capped her memorial season by claiming the title with a 7-2 victory.

Hall became just the second female in school history to win a state title, joining track & field standout Desire Brown (1A 200 and 400-meter dash in 2016).

The only other wrestler from Trask to stand atop the podium was heavyweight Jervon Faison in 2014.  

After finishing third at the East Regional, Hall recorded back-to-back pins to reach the semifinal. There, she survived with a 4-3 overtime win.

Hall, who is also a talented softball and volleyball player, finished with a record of 21-2 and 14 pins.

Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?: There is a pair of socks I have to wear every match, and I take naps before every meet.

What is your dream job?: Orthopedic surgeon

Which would you choose- a vacation at the beach or the mountains?: Mountains

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?: White Siberian tiger

Which three things cant you live without?: Books, music, and my guitar

What is your favorite snack to get at the movie theater?: Twizzlers with a cherry slushie

If you are hungry for a donut, where are you going to get it?: Krispy Kreme
