With several high school sports seasons coming to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys tennis, boys and girls golf, boys and girls lacrosse, girls soccer and softball.
The Coastal Preps Boys Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year is senior Daniel Ando from Hoggard.
Daniel’s Accomplishments
Hoggard has had some terrific goalkeepers over the past decade and senior Daniel Ando ranks up there among the best.
Ando helped the Vikings go unbeaten in Mideastern Conference play and finish with a 10-1 record. He allowed only 6.3 goals per game and held 10 of 11 opponents to single digit goals.
The William Peace signee made a season-high 16 saves in a 14-6 victory over Laney on February 4. He made 10 or more saves eight times and finished the season with a save percentage of .648 (116 saves on 179 shots).
