Now that the winter sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the past few days, you’ve gotten to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in swimming & diving, wrestling and basketball.

For the second consecutive year, the Coastal Preps Boys Co-Basketball Player of the Year is senior guard Myron Mckoy from Trask.

Myron’s Accomplishments

Myron Mckoy capped one of the greatest careers in area history by averaging 20.6 points, 6.4 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 steals.

His play and leadership helped Trask finish 24-5 and reach the third round of the NCHSAA 2A playoffs. The Titans also went a perfect 12-0 in the Waccamaw Conference for a second consecutive season. 

Mckoy scored at least 10 points in all but one game. He poured in a career-high 41 to lead Trask to an incredible 82-69 overtime win over West Columbus in the conference tournament championship.  

The senior recorded six double-doubles and was one assist shy of a triple double against East Columbus on February 13. He shot 42.4 percent from the field (201 of 474) and 33.8 percent from 3-point range (74 of 219).

Mckoy ended his illustrious career with 1,595 points and 73 victories, including going undefeated on his home court in conference games.
