Now that the spring sports season has come to a close, it’s time to reveal the All-Coastal Preps teams. Over the next week, you will get to know more about the players of the year while also seeing who made first and second team in boys tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls lacrosse, boys golf, girls soccer, softball and baseball.

The Coastal Preps Softball Co-Position Player of the Year is senior Allie Royal from Hoggard.

Allie’s Accomplishments

Allie Royal was a four-year starter at first base for the Hoggard softball team, helping the program reach a pair of 4A State Championship Series.

In her final season as a Viking, Royal hit .435 with five doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 26 RBIs and 19 runs scored. 

Royal had a .507 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.032. She walked more times (11) than she struck out (10).

She had eight multi-hit games and finished with a season-high five RBIs on two occasions. 

The UNCW signee committed only one error in 159 total chances for a remarkable .994 fielding percentage.

Hoggard finished the season 14-6 overall and 10-2 in the Mideastern Conference. They reached the second round of the NCHSAA 4A playoffs.

Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?: YES!!! I have to have my mom get my Chick-fil-A in the morning and then she has to get my tropical smoothie for lunch.
